22 & 29 October: Planned Water Interruption Announced for Parts of Mangaung
The Mangaung Metropolitan Municipality (MMM) has announced a planned water supply interruption that will affect several areas across Mangaung due to Eskom’s scheduled maintenance at the Welbedacht Dam.
The maintenance is scheduled for 22 and 29 October, between 06:00 and 18:00 on both days. The municipality confirmed that water supply may be intermittently affected during these times, as electricity to key water infrastructure will be temporarily interrupted for maintenance.
“During the period, the water supply may be intermittently affected as the electricity supply to key water infrastructure will be interrupted for maintenance purposes,” the municipality said in a statement.
Affected areas include:
- Bloemfontein (Southern side)
- Dewetsdorp
- Wepener
- Phahameng
- Phelindaba
- Rocklands
- Phases
- Pellissier
- Universitas
- Fauna
- Uitsig
- Vista Park
- Hamilton Industrial Area
- Phases 4, 5, 6 and surrounding areas
The MMM has urged residents to use water sparingly during the maintenance period and to store sufficient water in advance for essential use.
